Abstract Studies of institutional translation have traditionally focused on European Union (EU) institutions and legislative genres. In order to develop a more comprehensive characterization at international organizations beyond EU supranational law, this study compares full mapping multilingual text production that two representative intergovernmental (IGOs), the United Nations (UN) World Trade Organization (WTO), over three years (2005, 2010, 2015) in common official languages (English, French, Spanish). The demand function included the ratio of currency holdings to supply of money as a dependent variable and the tax variables of legal entities, the ratio of wages and salaries to national...
متن کاملRe-examining informative prior elicitation through the lens of MCMC
In recent years, advances in Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) techniques have had a major impact on the practice of Bayesian statistics. An interesting but hitherto largely underexplored corollary of this fact is that MCMC techniques make it practical to consider broader classes of informative priors than have been used previously. Conjugate priors, long the workhorse of classic methods for elic...
